A special celebration was held at Liscannor NS on Friday 1st May to mark Grandparents Day. Fr Crosby celebrated mass at 11am for pupils and their grandparents and other family members.
A "Tree of Remembrance" was placed in the church in memory of grandparents who are no longer with us.
Grandparents enjoyed performances of songs and music from each class, along with some tea, coffee and lovely home baking. They finished off the afternoon with a little tour of the school, where children were able to show their grandparents their classrooms, their artwork and some photos of past pupils who may have been familiar to our visitors!
Our thanks to Fr. Crosby who celebrated such a unique and special mass, to our Parents Association for organising the refreshments and setting up the hall for the occasion, and to the children and staff who worked so hard on their music and songs to entertain us all, as well as helping to serve refreshments and clean up afterwards.
